Ok, admittedly, no one asked me to post about Comic Con, but I'm going to assume everyone's talking about it amongst themselves that they want me to. So here you go: IT WAS THE BEST TIME EVER!!! I had a great time! It was bigger than Gen Con where I went in...August? of last year. That time when everyone asked for my picture I felt like a hero, but this time I was the one asking for the photos. It really is so exciting to do it though, so I totally understand it. Still, I agree with LSCC when they say it's still common courtesy to ask before you take a photo. Still, I met so many amazing people with GREAT costumes! The only expensive thing on my costume was my corset, but some people obviously paid more than that for theirs. They totally took it seriously, but were still there to have fun.
This is going to sound like I'm regressing into a 13 year old emo, but there are times when I feel like even among my friends, they tease me for being such a wierdo and that I'm part of a world they'll never understand (which is totally fine!), but I couldn't hold a candle to some of these people. I know a good bit about comics, but so many people knew more than I ever will. I felt people staring at first which made me uncomfortable, but then I was staring at people too. It was so fun to identify people, and some of the costumes were so intricate! All that put together made all of us feel part of a community. I felt like I was already friends with everyone there, and we all interacted like we had been personal LARPing buddies since age 3.
Favorite moment: when I took a picture with Gandalf, he asked for a selfie, and he TOTEM MCSCROTUM snap chatted it to someone.
