I really don't think I told that many people I was going to Germany, so...I'M IN GERMANY!!
Something I've learned: Germans have a very specific brand of road rage. It's not something I can put a name to, but it has the same kind of feel as the "look" Germans have in their eye so you know that they're German. Even when they're just sitting there not doing anything, you can tell they're German. I only know one German who doesn't have that. I just mean, it's not something you can easily put a label on, but when you see it, you're like yuuuuuuuuuuup there it is.
#2 Thing I've learned: I like it when men sing along to the radio. I've only ever heard women do it. It's nice. It makes me smile.
I went to the beach today and had sooooo much fun. Does anyone dislike the beach? Seriously, tell me if you do. It'd be interesting to know. Anyway, it was a European beach obviously, so you know what that means: NAKED PEOPLE!!!! Know what else it means? THE ONLY NAKED PEOPLE ARE YOUNGER THAN 5 OR OLDER THAN 60!!! WHOOOOO! Public nudity has yet to grow on me.
The day before that I got to see the canal which Malte keeps pronouncing like "kennel" as in the place you put dogs and cats. I don't have the heart to correct him. Because really, I know what he means, and it's kind of endearing when he says it. Also, this is a test to see if he reads my blog.
I'm staying at his and his parent's house, and they are EXACTLY what I pictured German parents would be like. They're so cute and German-y. They dress like Germans, they talk like Germans, and they act like Germans. They're so nice to me, and they're always stuffing me with food until it's sticking out of my esophagus. But in a good way. I went to the mall with Malte's mom yesterday, and it was sooo fun. One, it was cool to have some girly time, and two, she pointed out so many things to me. I learned so much, especially in the supermarket. It may be super dorky, but I like visiting the supermarket in other countries. It's a way to learn about the culture really fast.
So here's a sign that I thought was hilarious and had to take a picture of. Off to Denmark for the day tomorrow.
