When you're sitting in your flat alone wearing a polka dot robe with a hood on it, you realize it is time to reflect on your life in a super cereal way.
I found an internship. Actually, a dual internship! With Byte the Book and Autharium, which are two ways to really get involved in pretty much every single facet of publishing that ever existed. (Also, their sites are here: http://www.bytethebook.com/ and http://www.autharium.com/ ) I have to say though, my favsies thing about it so far is the people. I was able to meet some of my new colleagues who work for Autharium, and they are SO NICE. They were talking and joking with me like we were already BFFs, and they made me feel so welcome that I couldn't stop smiling. Plus Justine (Justine Solomons, the woman who's made all of this possible) is helping me out more than I could ever ask for. Really. She has so many ideas, and she's so willing to connect me with people and events and whatever I need to do well here. Seriously, I'm so grateful for all of this.
I also have to say thanks to Cornelius because he knows what he did, and I wouldn't be here if he hadn't helped. SMOOCHIES, POOKIE PIE!!!
Completely changing subjects, Knot has hired a bunch of new people who I really like. Ok, there's one person I really don't like, but they're going to Victoria, so I don't care. Mel's a supa famous actor and I've already sold 83 copies of his signed photograph, Lina's amazing and is crazy just like me, and Elza and I make a team on the coffee machine that makes great coffee (plus we're laughing so hard while we're doing it, that latte art is impossible with the jug shaking that hard (that's what she said?)). I was really starting to be unhappy when custies come in and made me feel stupid or were really disrespectful, but with these great people around, I have the feeling back that I had when I first started here. Feelz good, man .jpg.
But I'm getting ready to head home for Thanksgiving, but I have SO MUCH to do before then. (I have some things I need to get together that I'm not going to tell the WWW about until it's a little more in order, but stay tuned!) I can't wait to see my family and I can't wait to see Indiana again. I want to get out of the city so badly, and go to a place where you wave to people for no reason, and they smile and wave back. Here, you try that and people throw bricks at you. I want it to snow. I know I said that last year, but it's even more true now. Plus, CORNELIUS IS SPENDING CHRISTMAS WITH ME AND MY FAMILY THIS YEAR! I can't wait to show him all these things that are important to me. I can't wait for him to meet the sisters and they tease him and he gets scared and cries. Dis gon be good. Which is a segway into that whole topic. Yes, my people, I met an amazing guy (even if he is German). Right now he's going to uni in Germany so we don't get to see each other as much as I wish we could, but I'm super happy to say that it doesn't take away from what we have. Being with him has made my life so much better, and I'm so incredibly happy that he accepts AmEx as my payments for him being my boyfriend. When Justine was asking me about him, she said, "You're smitten. I can see it all over your face." Tehehe.
So like I said, stay tuned! I hope to have news for you again very soon! Stay warm everybody, and Happy New Year.
